Jake ‘El Gallo’ Paul walked out first, well drove out with roosters in the back of a green limo. The influencer turned boxer helped draw in major viewing for the fight, appealing for the younger generations of boxing. A number of items were thrown at Paul as he drove and then walked up to the ring. He was joined by his brother Logan Paul all the way up to the ring.
Paul, voiced his intention before the fight, of wanting to step into the ring with Canelo Alvarez. “Me vs Canelo at 200lbs for the cruiserweight world title is the biggest fight.” The fight will further propel Paul into professional boxing, if he gets the fight vs Canelo. Paul record now stands at X, having previously beaten boxers such as Tyron Woodley and Anderson Silva.
Mike Tyson walked up alone, wearing a loose black vest, a knee brace on and at 58 years old Tyson looked in the zone. All black just like back when he was in his prime. No coaches, no family just Iron Mike. The fight is set to get underway in the next few moments.
Mike Tyson’s last fight took place on November 28, 2020, when the 58-year-old boxing legend faced Roy Jones Jr. in an exhibition match at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. This eight-round bout was a non-competitive event. Despite their combined age exceeding 100 years, both men showcased glimpses of their storied careers. The match ended in a draw, as determined by unofficial scoring from celebrity judges.
At the press conference, Paul trolled the legendary heavyweight by wearing $200,000 diamond-studded ear covers. This was a clear jab at Tyson’s infamous 1997 bout against Evander Holyfield, during which Tyson bit off part of Holyfield’s ear in one of the most controversial moments in boxing history. Paul quipped, “I’m not getting my s–t bitten off.”
